Post Surgery

The success of your surgery doesn’t finish the moment you leave the operating theatre. It is just the beginning to get you better!
“The Surgeon fixes the problem, the Physio prevents the problem from reoccurring”
Your orthopaedic surgeon completes the initial step toward your successful outcome by skilfully performing a surgical procedure. Then you will normally be prescribed by your doctor to do a post-operative rehabilitation program prescribed and supervised by your physiotherapist.

Post-orthopaedic surgical patients usually face 2 daunting questions: “How much should I rest?” and “What can I do to help my recovery without compromising my surgery?” You’ll almost certainly require an exercise plan to fully regain your strength, flexibility and function. Consulting a physiotherapist experienced in post-operative rehabilitation is the best thing you can do.

At Myphysio, we are happy to assist you in your post-operative care. Our physiotherapists are familiar with the treatment protocols prescribed by most Orthopaedic Surgeons in Singapore. We’ll liaise closely with your surgeon to determine any specific requirements specific to your individual surgery. We will send reports to update them about your progress to provide the best outcome.

At the initial consultation, our Physios will ask about your activity or sports goals. They will then lay out the plan of care for the next few months and give you a clear picture of how the rehabilitation will proceed. We help to get you moving after your surgery to fully regain your strength, flexibility and function and reduce the risk of side effects.
