1Is Physiotherapy for me?
Our Physiotherapists have been trained in the use manual therapy to help with your pain relief and exercise therapy to strengthen your muscles and improve your function. Physiotherapy exercises have been scientifically proven to be one of the most effective ways to solve or prevent pain and injury.
We are firm believers in the prescription of the “best exercises” and the most appropriate “exercise dosage” for you depending on your rehabilitation status, so that you can manage your health even at home. We will incorporate essential components of core exercises, pilates, yoga and exercise physiology to provide you with the best result.
Our Physiotherapists also utilises strapping and kinesiology taping techniques to prevent injuries. They are also able to do biomechanical and posture assessment. Poor understanding of exercise technique or posture is one of the most common sources of repeat injury.
Physiotherapy is beneficial for patients who want better health, advise on proper exercises routines and techniques, are in an acute or chronic pain state, injury prevention, rehabilitation for surgeries, maintenance of functional mobility etc.

2Will it be painful?
We always seek to minimise pain and discomfort, even if it is a chronic or long-term condition. We work within your pain threshold to help you heal, restore movement, and function.
We may utilise various modalities such as clinical massage or myofascial releases, ultrasound therapy, dry needling, and electrical stimulation during your treatment.
These modalities may cause zero or slight discomfort depending on the severity of your impairments.
It is therefore important that you communicate the intensity, frequency, and duration of pain to your therapist so that he/she can adjust your treatment plan if required.
3How do I find the right therapist for me?
Our Senior physiotherapists have a combined experience of nearly 30 years. They are experts in their own fields and are both recognized and certified by the Allied Health Professions Council of Singapore.

4Do I need a doctor’s referral?
We are always happy to work with an extended medical network but a doctor’s referral is not necessary as Physiotherapy can be your first option.
However, if your condition requires further investigations, the physiotherapist will be able to make a focused and suitable recommendation based on condition,
Currently we do accept Cigna for direct billing(depends on your insurance coverage).

5How long does each session last?
Our initial consultation will be 60mins long, to ensure sufficient time for assessment and treatment. Follow-up treatment at 45mins long, however at times if the patient requires longer treatment times it can be arranged in advanced.
Per company policy to ensure personal treatment time, there will absolutely but no double bookings made, each therapist sees only one patient for each time slot.

6How long will it take for me to feel better?
At Myphysio, we believe that no two patients are the same and depending on your diagnosis and the severity of your impairments, you may require just one or two visits or you may need months of care. Each session is a personalized treatment experience prescribed by our senior physiotherapists.
At Myphysio, we also believe in empowering our patients to get better by educating them during our treatments. Our therapists will not only provide you with information about your condition, but will also provide clear instructions on home exercises and advice for you to take ownership of your health.

7How should I prepare/dress for my first appointment?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier for your first appointment to complete a short registration form. This will also ensure that you get your full allotted treatment time.
We suggest you dress comfortably and if possible, wear loose clothing that covers the area to be treated. For instance, jeans are not advisable if you have a knee-related condition. However we do have shorts if you are required to change into one. A restroom is available in the clinic.
You are also advised to bring along your referral letters, medical records, and medical imaging such as MRI/X-rays if any, clinical discharge summary report(if you are post-op patient), to ensure that our Physiotherapists are well informed about your medical condition and thus be able to advise you on the best care.
8What can I expect at my first appointment?
During the first Evaluation session, the Physiotherapist will ask about your health history and assess your current condition.
By understanding and conducting a thorough check of your posture, muscle system, joint motion and exercise performance, they will be able to provide a more personalized treatment session.
After which, we will provide a clinical diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care and discuss short and long-term goals.
Treatment usually comprise of various modalities such as clinical massage or myofascial releases, ultrasound, taping, electrical stimulation etc modalities used will be dependent on your condition. You can also expect to receive self-management recommendations with home exercises and physical aides prescribed if required.
Physical aides to assist with your recovery such as foam rollers, massage balls, resistance bands, etc( we have over 35 different products) have been carefully procured all over the world by our Physiotherapists).
9What are the payment options available?
We accept all major debit and credit cards, NETS and cash.
Currently we do accept Cigna direct billing(subject to your company health care plan policy, if co-pay % is needed). Patients will need to present a copy of the card for verification purposes.
10Does my health insurance cover the cost of Physiotherapy?
Currently we do accept Cigna as a direct billing partner. We are always looking out for new medical insurers to establish good relationships with. Most of the time, if you have a post-operative procedure done, you will be covered for outpatient physiotherapy services over a period of time.
At times, your health care insurance provider may require a referral note from a doctor in order the process the claims. However the best option is to check with your health insurance provider if you are covered (period and amount claimable).
We will be most happy to assist and help you with filling in the paperwork for your claims if applicable.
